What is this book about?

David Diop’s novel was originally published in French as Frère d’âme. It received the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens in 2018. Anna Moschovakis translated it into English as At Night All Blood Is Black, and that translation won the International Booker Prize in 2021. The English edition appeared through Pushkin Press in Britain and Farrar, Straus and Giroux in the United States.
