Be With

Be With is Forrest Gander’s tenth collection of poems. It is in part an elegy for his wife, the poet C. D.

Wright, who died unexpectedly in 2016. The poems also take up the mysticism of St John of the Cross, the history of the border between the United States and Mexico, and his mother’s Alzheimer’s disease. The book closes with a sequence of poems written in response to photograms by the artist Michael Flomen.
