Le otto montagne

Pietro’s family lives in Milan and spends its summers in Grana, a village in the Aosta Valley. His father is a passionate mountaineer and passes that love on to his son. In Grana, Pietro meets Bruno, a boy from a local family of herders, and a deep friendship grows between them. The novel is in three parts: the first tells how the friendship began, in the second the two build a hut together high in the mountains, and the third follows them as adults who have drifted apart.
