Mr. Stink

Chloe is a lonely twelve-year-old who is bullied at school. Her ambitious mother, who is running for parliament, favours her high-achieving younger sister, and her father has lost his job but is afraid to say so. Chloe befriends a smelly tramp known as Mr Stink and hides him and his dog, Duchess, in the garden shed.

When he is discovered, her mother, who campaigns to clear homeless people off the streets, pretends she invited him to stay. The book is illustrated by Quentin Blake.
