Nettle & Bone

Marra is the youngest of three princesses. Her eldest sister marries Prince Vorling and dies within months; the middle sister, Kania, then marries him, and Marra is sent to a convent. When she learns that Vorling is abusing Kania, Marra leaves the convent determined to save her.

She seeks help from a dust-wife, who sets her three seemingly impossible tasks: weave a cloak from nettles, make a dog from bones and catch moonlight in a jar. Those who join her along the way include a knight rescued from a goblin market and a fairy godmother who is better at curses than blessings. The novel has been described as a dark fairy tale.
