Punks: New & Selected Poems

Punks gathers John Keene’s poetry from across several decades in seven sections, including previously unpublished and new work. The poems bring together stories of loss, lust and love, in voices that range from historical Black figures, both famous and from the poet’s own family, to his friends and lovers in gay bars and bedrooms. Their subjects include desire, oppression, AIDS and grief.
