The Road Home

Lev is a middle-aged, recently widowed man from Auror, a village in an unnamed eastern European country. When the sawmill where he works closes, he travels to London to earn money to send home to his mother, his five-year-old daughter, Maya, and his best friend. His first job is in a kebab shop; later he washes dishes at a five-star restaurant. Along the way he meets Lydia, a translator from his own country, Christy, a divorced Irish plumber, Sophie, a young chef, and Ruby, a rich old woman.
