Cannibals

Cannibals is set in the late 1980s in the Riverside, a run-down neighbourhood where people down on their luck seem to have gathered. Toma Shinogaki, who has just turned seventeen, lives there with his father, Madoka, and his father’s partner, Kotoko. Madoka drinks heavily, is unfaithful and abuses the women he sleeps with, and Toma fears that he is turning into his father. The English translation is by Kalau Almony.
