Juno Isabella Flock is in her mid-fifties and lives in Leipzig, where she works as a dancer and choreographer. Her husband, Jupiter, a writer, has a severe form of multiple sclerosis and needs more and more care. Juno looks after him by day.

At night she leads a second life online, chatting with love scammers who use fake profiles to exploit lonely people for money. One of them is Benu, in Nigeria, and although both know the situation is artificial, a real connection grows between them. The novel mixes everyday reality with mythological allusion.
