What is this book about?
Sophie Elmhirst’s book tells the true story of Maurice and Maralyn Bailey, a British married couple who set out from Southampton in 1972 to sail to New Zealand. In March 1973 their yacht was struck by a whale and sank in the Pacific. They survived for 118 days on a rubber raft and dinghy before being rescued. The book has also been published as A Marriage at Sea.
