The Power

The Power imagines girls and women around the world developing the ability to release electrical jolts from their hands, a change that allows them to become the dominant sex. It follows four characters: Roxy, the daughter of an English gangster; Tunde, an aspiring journalist in Nigeria who films women using the power; Margot, a mayor whose daughter is developing it; and Allie, a foster child who takes refuge in a convent. The story is framed as a book within a book: a historical manuscript written thousands of years later and sent to another author for an early read.
