A Memory Called Empire

Arkady Martine’s debut novel, published in 2019, follows Mahit Dzmare, an ambassador from Lsel Station to the Teixcalaanli Empire. The death of the previous ambassador draws her into an investigation. Her investigation draws her into the instabilities of the empire’s society.
