Hunchback follows Izawa Shaka, a woman with myotubular myopathy who lives in a group care facility and writes pornography. The book ranges across her thoughts on subjects that include Nietzsche and disability studies in relation to the films of David Lynch. Saou Ichikawa’s debut was serialised in Bungakukai in May 2023 and published in book form by Bungeishunjū the following month. An English translation by Polly Barton appeared in 2025.
