Toki no Ie

Toki no Ie (The House of Time) centres on a single house, carefully built and lived in by three generations of residents. A young man draws it in detail: its floors, pillars, ceilings, tiles and walls, and the marks that time has left on them. Through these details the presence, memories and feelings of the people who lived there return. The publisher describes the novel as a new kind of architectural fiction.
