Resistere non serve a niente

The novel opens with a criminal gang carrying out an execution in an isolated hut in the countryside outside Rome. Later, at a party for a television star, the author-narrator meets the host, Tommaso Aricò, who is known as a financial wizard and is famously rich. Tommaso offers to solve the narrator’s housing problems with his own money.

In return he wants a book written about him. The account that follows goes back to his birth in 1976 into a family on the poor outskirts of the city, and to a childhood marked by obesity.
