What is this book about?
Long before the rise of humanity, two immortal, shape-shifting aliens come to Earth. Neither knows of the other, and neither remembers its origin or purpose. In 2019 a mysterious artefact is found buried beneath the ocean floor off Samoa.
The discovery draws both beings, the ’changeling’ and the ’chameleon’, to the island. One has come to wish humanity well and wants to protect life; the other is deeply hostile and enjoys killing. Each begins to look for the other.
