Vivre Vite

In this work of non-fiction Brigitte Giraud examines the circumstances that led to the accidental death of her husband, Claude, in Lyon on 22 June 1999. Looking back from a distance of twenty years, she sets out the chain of events that ended in his motorcycle accident, beginning with her grandfather’s death and the complicated purchase of a house, which is central to the account. Claude was a library director and rock critic who loved motorbikes; the powerful machine he was riding that day was not his own.
